Description
A handsome pair of Victorian-era ram’s horn table snuffs with dog finial, stag’s head legs and silver mounts; Scottish, circa 1900. Each snuff features a hinged top with an animate cast finial of an alert hunt dog / spaniel sitting at attention. Each has a ram’s horn base decorated and single leg with a detailed, cast-metal Stag’s head decoration (Scottish Red Deer thrive in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland) and a single hoofed foot and silver-tipped tails.
