Mahogany barrel-back armchair with carved lion head terminals. The curved back rail joins scrolled arms terminating in boldly carved lion heads with detailed manes and facial expressions. Upholstered seat in gold ribbed velvet and brass nail head trim. Turned front legs, and saber back legs.  The form, carving, and proportions consistent with early 19th-century French Restoration period design. French, circa 1820.
