Bermudan Cedar Chest of Drawers, circa 1770, made in the style of English Jacobean furniture. Bermudan craftsmen made a variety of furniture out of imported Mahogany and local Bermuda cedar also called Bermuda juniper. These pieces were largely made for British colonies in the Caribbean throughout the 18th century. The grain of this wood is both beautiful and unique, it features the impressive lines of a Jacobean chest but lighter in color and feel.
