Description
A low frog-form footstool in mottled brown leather, the rounded body formed from shaped stitched panels with a long hand-stitched seam along the back. Knotted leather eyes flank the head, and the four splayed legs terminate in broad webbed feet. The surface shows creasing, rubbing and tonal variation consistent with age and use. In the manner of Dimitri Omersa.1 English, Circa 1960–1970

- Dimitri Omersa took over the production of leather animal footstools supplied to Liberty in the late 1950s, expanding the range beyond the original leather pig introduced at Liberty in 1927. Animal-form leather stools subsequently became closely associated with the Omersa name and its British leatherwork tradition. The present example is offered as in the manner of Omersa; photographs do not show an Omersa or Liberty mark. ↩
