Description
Oak side table with a thick single-plank top over a plain frieze. The rectangular top with aged patina and a full-length shrinkage crack following the grain. The perimeter is softly worn with rounded edges, retaining surface checking, scattered early nail repairs, and abrasions consistent with prolonged use. The surface shows layered wear and patination developed over time. Supported by four robust chamfered legs joined by a low-set perimeter box stretcher. Pegged mortise and tenon construction throughout. French, circa 1680.
