Description
A fine polychrome cloisonné enamel box with scrollwork and foliate decoration on all sides; the lid decorated with a central cartouche of mirrored confronted birds amid dense scrolling foliage in cobalt blue turquoise red white and green enamel on a gilt ground. Velvet lined interior. Likely Russian or Eastern European circa 1880-1910.
