Description
A Regency period English walnut box with tent top and waisted form, arranged throughout with radiating geometric veneered motifs. The lid presents a recessed rectangular handle set within a sunburst-patterned surface. Star marquetry is applied to the underside of the lid above a vacant silk-lined interior. The exterior shows alternating light and dark veneers laid in fan and lozenge patterns, continuing across all faces of the box. Fitted with a working lock and key and raised on four metal ball feet.
