Description
Solid lacewood box with rosewood edging and diamond-shaped rosewood inlay centered on the canted top. Recessed brass campaign handles mounted on each end. The lacewood displays pronounced figure with distinctive mottled patterning across all surfaces. Rosewood banding outlines the edges of both the body and lid. Interior lined with green paper, now worn, retaining original character. Working lock with diamond-shaped escutcheon and key. Compressed turned bun feet in ebonized wood. French-polished finish enhancing the depth and chatoyancy of the lacewood grain. English circa 1820
