Description
A Victorian period English coopered rum barrel in stained fruitwood, bound with five riveted brass straps. The flat, circular lid is mounted with pierced brass hinges and a clasp, lifting to reveal an open interior. Brasswork shows age-related oxidation. The interior retains surface markings consistent with prior use. Constructed with vertical staves and traditional brass hooping. Circa 1880.
